Rudi Krol should be home now

Rudi Krol, the maverick coach of the Buccaneers should be resting at home now. The chairman, The Iron Duke, should heed the cries of the Bucanneers and do the right thing by showing this clown the door.

He has been nothing but a spectacular failure. His impressive cv does nothing for him here in Mzansi. Some of us will never go and watch our team huff and puff under the tutelage of this clown.

The are a number of coaches in Mzansi who can do wonders for the team, with so many available stars at his disposal.

That much, die man moot loop sos now.

Bafana to clobber Sierra Leone

The national soccer team, our beloved Bafana Bafana, go into the proverbial lion's den tommorrow to face one their toughest assignments in Sierra Lione.
They should just go out and prove to the doubting thomasses that we are back to our best. They should just wrap the game and bring home the much cherished three points.

Pitso's vital win

Yesterday's Bafana Bafana's win against Ghana must have been a morale booster for the incumbent coach, Pitso Mosimane. The boys played with passion. They showed a fighting spirit.
Some among us have alluded to the fact that Ghana were here to say thank you to the country for the wonderful time they had in Mzantsi. Soccer was the last thing in their minds. But this was an official friendly fixture

But it is about time that Pitso confines all the likes of Sibaya and Mbazo to the retirement village. He must take the bull by its proverbial horns and introduce younger players.

The country cannot go to Brazil with old-timers.

SAFA Regime in Lalaland

With Bafana Bafana out of the FIFA Soccer World Cup, you would have expected the new SAFA regime to tackle the issue of who will take over from Carlos Parreira. But the new regime has been very slow in confirming whether Pitso Mosimane is going to take over or not. They seem to have taken a vey lackdaisical approach to this matter of national importance.

It is amazing how the new regime plays with words. First, they said they wanted a black coach to take over Bafana Bafana after the World Cup. Now they want a South African to take over. Talk of semantics.

The nation demands that the regime speed up this matter and offer Pitso a contract that will be made public.

The Blue Bulls rock Soweto

The victory of the Blue Bulls over the Crusaders was very sweet indeed. But the cherry on top was the massive after party at most joints around Soweto.

I witnessed the Ngamlas walking within the precinct of the stadium, freely. The atmosphere was electric. Popular places like Sakhumzi in Orlando West and Sochillas in Diepkloof were packed to the rafters.

But ordinary people around the stadium made massive profits. One 750 bottle of beer, affectionately referred to as "iqumqum" went for a modest R50 a bottle.

With the Super 14 Final taking place at the Orlando Stadium this coming weekend, my enterpreneunal instict have kicked in. I don't need a business plan. As to what I plan to sell on Saturday, will remain a smallanyana secret, for now.

Live by the sword die by the panga

The death of Eugene Terblanche did not leave me cold. I suppose the saying that if you live by the sword you die by the panga is true. All those right-wingers who are threatening violence that be stopped right in their tracks. They can be pretty dangerous.

As for Juju Man, he abandon his bravado and tone down on his rhetoric. But one is astounded by the deafening silence of the ANC NEC members on Juju's vitriolic attacks on journalists and a host of other people who don't agree with him. The voice of reason is sadly missing from our glorious congress movement.

The big guns bite the dust!

One cannot wait for the big yawn that is playing itself out in Angola to end. There was really no hype around the 2010 Afcon in Angola.

First to go was the Ivory Coast. With all the super stars on paper, they could not match the tenacity of the Algerians

I have ap passionate dislike for Nigeria. Reason? Their pride borders on arrogance.
So tonight, I wish, sincerely, for them to be knocked out of the Afcon. Talk about African brotherhood, not with the architects of the 411 scams.

Most star players are saving themselves for the Big One aka the FIFA Soccer World Cup. With the so-called big name countries struggling, Bafana may just make it to the next round, even into the quarters. Only those of little faith will doubt what I am saying.
